I've gone four times and by the second time I could already make it down the hill without falling, and off the lift without falling and hitting anyone. My boyfriend said I was learning crazy fast, which is awesome but how long did it take you all to learn?

I prefer skiing maybe because it's easier to control or the fact that there are poles. Maybe I just like the concepts to skiing. I've never tried snowboarding before.
Which one do you prefer? I've found that many people first start skiing, but later they try snowboarding.
What size snowboard do you use? Is it close to what is recommended at the snowboard sizing calculator? http://www.frostyrider.com/tips/size-guide.htm
It is pretty right on for me :) I am 5'9" and 195 pounds and I ride a 159cm Burton Custom.
I live in Boston, MA and at one time we would get so much snow we didn't know what to do with it. Now that global warming is happening our snow storms barely exist any more.
I personally am not a huge fan of snow and could never understand the people who like to ski or go snowmobile riding. To me you just get very cold and often times very wet. That seems very uncomfortable to me and I don't know why anyone would want to do it. I'm sure it's a lot of fun but to me personally I never appreciated it.
Do you live in a country where it snows? Do you get out and enjoy it or just look at it from your window? If your country doesn't get any snow do you wish it did? Do you try to go to a country that does just for the experience?
SSX is a great video game. It is exciting, fascinating. There are a lot of action packed courses. There are a ton of different moves that you can perform on the course. The graphics are amazing. I especially like the part when the snow board goes on ice.
